The Gu Affairs Of Miaojiang

The calamity of witchcraft and sorcery has persisted for thousands of years since the Western Han Dynasty, repeatedly prohibited yet never ceasing, even to this day. As national studies decline and public awareness gradually awakens in great China, many rural folk discuss it, yet numerous individuals who "find themselves in this mountain" remain unaware and uninformed. Conversely, the techniques of witchcraft and sorcery, particularly those from Maoshan, have flourished across Southeast Asia, with places like Hong Kong and Taiwan also experiencing prosperity and a multitude of sects emerging.

The protagonist of the story is an ordinary young man from the Miao ethnic group. Due to an inexplicable curse placed upon him by his grandmother, a shaman of the Miao village, before her death, he embarks on an extraordinary journey of self-rescue. Thus, he begins to delve into a mysterious world, befriending some unique and powerful individuals, and gradually transforms from an ordinary person into a master of the Miao region's sorcery. All of this is merely to guide him step by step in uncovering the unspeakable secrets and ambitions of the long-lost Yelang Kingdom and its people, as recounted in ancient legends.
